Sense of Place - Your Neighborhood

I never noticed how much nature is in my neighborhood until this assignment. I go outside on my front porch and there are trees all around. I do not have neighbors on either side. One side is filled with bushes and trees and the other side is a big lot that someone plans to build a home sometime soon. Walking down my street there is a gas station and some other houses a little ways down. There are bushes and trees everywhere. I see and hear birds all the time around my neighborhood. There are also a lot of racoons that come and eat the garbage we put outside in bins. Of course they run away everytime i walk outside or come home. My neighborhood isnt very pretty, but it does have a lot of bushes and trees. There is a possibility that it could become pretty if some time and effort was put into these bushes and trees to help them "shine" a little more. Maybe i will make that a little project that i can work out throughout the semester. I wish there were more animals around my neighborhood.
